Nocatee Patient Testimonials

Read what patients have to say about my services!

Michael has been a vital partner to help me overcome injuries and identify areas of weakness. He constantly assesses and adapts interventions to encourage recovery. The stretch, glide, manipulate, and dry needling techniques have helped keep me active.

-Chris A.

My time with Dr Derry was worth every penny.  After suffering with pain from a car accident almost 4 years ago Physical Therapy was the key to increasing my strength and decreasing my pain.  Dr Derry worked with my crazy working mom schedule and traveled to both my home and place of business.  I highly recommend Dr Derry.

-Jill M.

Dr. Derry was extremely helpful with developing my in-home program.  My back is much better than it was a couple of weeks ago. He gets to know what your goals are, then works on a individual plan with you.  Very good experience!

Nocatee in-home/concierge physical therapy FAQs

Does Medicare cover physical therapy for back pain?

Absolutely! Medicare covers in-home physical therapy for back pain. I have treated many conditions to help my Jacksonville patients recover from injuries, increase mobility, and reduce pain in areas all over the body.

How many physical therapy sessions does Medicare cover?

Medicare allows for as many physical therapy sessions as you need, which I determine are medically necessary to improve your function. Medicare used to limit the number of sessions they would cover, but that is no longer the case!

Does Medicare cover in-home physical therapy?
Does Medicare cover physical therapy in Florida?

Yes, most Medicare beneficiaries in Florida can receive physical therapy services at little or no cost under a supplemental plan that's included.

How to do physical therapy at home:

In-home/mobile physical therapists like myself will meet you in your home or office and supply all the necessary equipment for you to receive treatment. Fill out my new patient questionnaire, and I'll reach out to schedule our first session!

Do you accept Medicare?

Yes! Most Medicare beneficiaries have a supplemental plan and often have no cost related to physical therapy.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. I am more than happy to bill your insurance. I will even verify your benefits! With that said, RHS is only a participating provider with Medicare. Simply put, we would not be able to provide the kind of high level care, individualized treatment that we do currently when working within an insurance-based model.

In some clinics that bill insurance, therapists must see multiple patients at one time to offset insurance reimbursement rates. On average, insurance companies tend to reimburse about 40% of what a therapist bills out. Many outpatient clinics are forced to utilize Physical Therapy Assistants or technicians to oversee a patients care. Often a patient may only spend 10-15 minutes with the Physical Therapist and be sent off to complete their exercises independently. In addition, insurance companies tend to dictate the number of sessions a patient is allowed regardless of the nature and depth of their injury or condition, causing them to stop therapy short and putting them at increased risk of re-injury.

With me, you spend the full session with a Doctor of Physical Therapy, and will likely require fewer visits overall to meet your goals. We will bill OON and most plans do have OON benefits. This usually occurs after deductibles have been met.

Do I need a referral for physical therapy in Florida?

A physical therapy referral isn’t required in the state of Florida. Your access to care is easier than ever! We will have contact with your referring provider so they are aware of what we are doing. If we need information such as surgical notes or images we will reach out to acquire that information. Visit our FAQ page for more information.
